Pipes, plaids and pageantry filled the streets of Old Town Dec. 7 for the Campagna Center’s 49th Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade, the centerpiece of a weekend of holiday events across the city.
The parade, along with other weekend events including the Taste of Scotland, Holiday Designer Tour of Homes, Heather and Greens sale and the Holiday Marketplace, serves as the largest fundraising activity for the Campagna Center and is coordinated and planned by The Junior Friends of The Campagna Center.
In additional to traditional Scottish bagpipes and drum corps, marching units included tartans of Scottish Clans, Scottish dancers, reenactment groups, Scottie dogs, Scouting troops, classic cars, Santa Claus and numerous local nonprofit organizations.
Proceeds from the events of the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend raise funds for The Campagna Center’s core programs for children and families. Passport Auto served as Premier Sponsor and is the 2019 Business Partner of the Year for the organization.
