The Loudoun Convention and Visitors Association is looking for individuals to serve three-year terms on its board of directors, from July 1, 2009 -June 30, 2012, with a transition period beginning in April. The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) reports that Trinity Fitness Center and Spa, located at 45965 Nokes Blvd., closed Dec. 14. Eligible members of this spa who believe they might be due refunds have until April 10 to file claims. Members who believe they are due a refund must contact the VDACSâ€™ Office of Consumer Affairs. Inova Loudoun Hospital will donate $100,000 to the Loudoun Community Health Center to help them reach their current fund-raising goal of $300,000 by the end of the year. The Loudoun Community Health Center provides care for those who are underinsured or uninsured and cannot afford to pay for healthcare.
The United States Army Information Technology Agency has awarded Telos Corporation of Ashburn a task order to provide Defense Message System support at the Pentagon Telecommunications Center. The one-year contract has a potential value of $13 million and has one option year. Telos will assist with integrating, operating and maintaining a single, integrated Defense Message System at three security levels. The Telecommunications Center is the Armyâ€™s nerve center in the Pentagon for operating and managing the critical information technology infrastructure related to messaging.
Liberty Hospitality Partners announced that Tami Crane has been appointed director of sales of the new Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Leesburg. Crane will direct all areas of the hotelâ€™s sales and marketing efforts. The 91-room hotel, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in June.

The owners of Kincora, a proposed 400-acre mixed-use business community located at the intersection of routes 7 and 28 in Loudoun County, have partnered with the Windy Hill Foundation on a plan to incorporate up to 228 affordable workforce apartments and condos into their project. The owners of Kincora have committed that 16.25 percent of the apartments and condos in Kincora will be affordable to households earning less than 100 percent of the area median income.
Family Veterinary Hospital of Stone Ridge partnered in October with nonprofit group Homeless Animals Rescue Team, a local organization that focuses on sick, injured and older pets. The hospital has provided cosmetic, spays and neuters, as well as rehabilitation to many rescue pets in an effort to promote their adoption to loving families. To date, Family Vet has provided more than $3,000 in free services that directly benefit the foster pets. Also, on Nov. 13, students from Park View, Stone Bridge and Potomac Falls high schools joined Family Vet for the annual Job-for-a-Day program. The students were involved with laboratory analysis, suturing, cardiovascular monitoring and using diagnostic tools and physical anatomy.
