Capitol Steps Performs for UCM

Capitol Steps played to a crowd of almost 500 people this past weekend at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

The event, which is a major fundraiser for United Community Ministries, brought in gross revenues of more than $66,000, well over the committee’s goal.

Friends of UCM members Theresa Keith-Wilson and Priscilla Flattery chaired the event, assisted by a dozen or so co-chairs and many volunteers.

Restourant Cosmopolitan provided the food for the reserved tables, which included beverages and appetizer trays. Wine and beverages came from several local groups.

“I was very pleased with the community turnout for Capitol Steps this year,” said Cheri Zeman, executive director for UCM. “The event was packed and everyone had a hilariously good time. It was a tremendous effort by the Friends of UCM group who organized the event. We are already looking forward to the Spring Gala on May 13, which will give us another chance to have fun while supporting the mission of this organization. I thank the community for their support, UCM’s staff for their tireless efforts, each and every day, and the many collaborative agencies that UCM works with to make our community a compassionate and caring place to live and work.”
