Famous Dave's Opens at Chantilly Crossing

<bt>Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, a down-home dining experience reminiscent of a good ol’ backyard barbeque, brings slow-smoked ribs, BBQ and more to Chantilly, as it opened to the public on Jan. 11.

The 250-seat restaurant is located at 14452 Chantilly Crossing Lane, Chantilly. Corporate executives from Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que gathered the Herndon Dulles Chamber of Commerce and Fairfax County business and government leaders for the official opening and “rib cutting” festivities.

Famous Dave’s also held “mock-service” training dinners for Famous friends and family on Jan. 9 and 10, collecting more than $1,334 in customer donations for Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit that inspires and organizes individuals and businesses to share their strengths in innovative ways to help end childhood hunger in America.

The menu features hickory-smoked St. Louis-Style Ribs, Texas Beef Brisket and five different BBQ sauces that provide guests with a flavorful tour of regional barbeque tastes. The menu also offers BBQ Chicken, Country Roasted Chicken, a variety of BBQ sandwiches, burgers and salads.

"Entrepreneurship 1-1: Starting a Business in Fairfax County" seminars will continue in 2006 with nine dates for the upcoming year. The Fairfax Economic Development Authority conducts the workshop for individuals interested in beginning a business in Fairfax County.

The workshops are held on the first Tuesday of each month at FCEDA headquarters, 8300 Boone Blvd., Suite 4550, Vienna. Sessions begin at 8 a.m. with refreshments and networking. Bowman Consulting of Chantilly announces the successful certification of several of its employees. Brian Larson became a certified landscape architect, James A. Data Systems Analysts Inc. (DSA), a provider of business-driven information technology and consulting solutions, announced a 12-month cooperative support agreement with The Software Engineering Institute (SEI).
