Two Women Robbed in Tysons Corner Area

<bt>According to police reports, two women were standing in a parking lot in the 8200 block of Greensboro Drive on Tuesday, Aug. 1 around 10 p.m. They were approached by two men with handguns. The men robbed the women of a purse and cash. The victims, 24 and 31, were not injured. The men fled on foot toward West Park Drive. Both suspects were described as black men in their 20s. The first suspect was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 pounds. He wore a black T-shirt and jeans. The second suspect was approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He wore a long black T-shirt and shorts. <sh>9-11 Ceremony at Great Falls Freedom Memorial

<bt>The Great Falls Freedom Memorial Committee invites all residents to the 9-11 Memorial Ceremony on Monday, Sept. 11, commemorating the lives of those who have died in defense of freedom. U.S. Rep. Don Young, a Great Falls resident who represents the state of Alaska in Congress, will be the keynote speaker. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon which killed six Great Falls residents. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Great Falls Freedom Memorial on the grounds next to the Great Falls Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike. The Great Falls Freedom Memorial Committee welcomes all who wish to participate in planning their ceremonies and help maintain the memorial. Call President Bob Pattavina at 703-759-7727.

<sh>Rising 6th, 12th Grade Students Eligible for Immunizations

<bt>Every student who is entering sixth grade is now required by the state to receive a dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine, and each student entering 12th grade is required to get a hepatitis B vaccine to comply with new Virginia immunization requirements. The required vaccinations are available at no cost to Fairfax County residents at Fairfax County Health Department clinics. Locations, contact information, and walk-in hours can be found at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/hd/hdclinicsite.htm. Each student must be accompanied by an adult and should bring his or her immunization records to the clinic. No appointment is necessary, except where noted. <sh>Calling On All Non-profit Organizations

<bt>All non-profit organizations are invited to participate in Macy's "Shop For A Cause" fundraiser on Sept. 16 at the new Macy's Tysons Corner (formerly known as Hechts). Macy's will provide organizations with shopping passes to be sold for $5 each. Every dollar goes directly to your organization and Macy's will not receive any percentage of the money made. There will be different types of entertainment and prizes during the day.
