The Advanced Sports Marketing students at Westfield High School are working on a project where we promote a D.C. United game throughout the school and outside the school in order to sell as many tickets as possible.
The marketing students are led by Jennifer Lee and have also been instructed by D.C. United Account Executive, Matt Homonoff.
The class has been broken up into four groups with four team leaders. Each group came up with their own promotional plans that included a player autograph session at The Fan's Choice, a candy give out, slides on the school announcements, etc.
There have been competitions within the class that promote competitive business nature and they include making a slogan, creating print ads, and who can sell the most tickets.
The game will be held on April 23 at RFK Stadium vs. the New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $20 each; $2 of that goes back to the marketing class.
Every ticket comes with a bracelet that allows the fan to go on the field after the game and receive an autograph from a D.C. United player.
