Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church in Burke will begin its summer schedule of one service at 10 a.m. on Sundays starting on Sunday, May 18. That morning the program will feature the children and teachers in the religious education classes. A potluck social and auction will follow the service.

"Nothing But Faith," a five-member band made up of teenagers who are members of Lord of Life and attend local high schools, will perform at a special youth service on Sunday, May 25, at 7 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Fairfax. Vocalists Dan Martin and Lisa Johanson; bassist Alex Lacquement; guitarist Matt Hardy; and percussionist Jake Bozek produce music that reflects the rhythm and distinctive sound preferred by today's young people.

Lord of Life will also welcome "Belief" to its sanctuary during Saturday and Sunday services and for a special Sunday evening concert at 7 p.m., during the weekend of June 7 and 8. Re-circulation Day with New World Unity Church. On Saturday, May 31, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., at the Moose Lodge, 9612 Fernedge Lane, Lorton, the New World Unity Church will address the distribution problem that keeps abundance from reaching all people equally with a "free garage sale." Furniture, kitchen implements, games, clothing, books, lamps and an array of miscellaneous items that have been given freely will be exchanged for good will only, no money. To donate, call Rev. Christ Presbyterian Church is hosting its Family Fair on Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., rain or shine. The fair will feature a moon bounce, numerous games and prizes, cotton candy, face painting, a cakewalk, gift baskets, a silent auction and more. Lord of Life Lutheran Church offers three weeks of summer camps in July for elementary school age girls and boys at the church's Fairfax location at 5114 Twinbrook Road. The first is an arts and crafts camp from July 14-18, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Rising kindergartners to second graders will have crafts and games; rising third to sixth graders will have art classes with a talented artist.

From July 21-25, a music and theater arts camp will be offered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This camp is open to rising first and fourth graders and returning older students who attended last year's camp and want to help this year. From July 28-Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., a sports and games camp for rising first to third graders and rising fourth to sixth graders will be offered. The two camps will run during the same time with appropriate activities for each age group.

All camps will be $40 per child for each camp with a maximum of $80 per family for each camp (two children or more.) For more information, contact the Lord of Life Church office at 703-323-9500. T.O.T. preschool, a ministry of Sydenstricker United Methodist Church, 8508 Hooes Road, Springfield, will begin its 16th year of operation in September. Christ United Methodist Church, located in Crosspointe, Fairfax Station, has been recognized by United Methodist Communications (UMCom) as an official "Welcoming Congregation," a congregation that meets criteria including being embracing of newcomers and providing opportunities in discipleship. The recognition is part of a larger effort launched in 2000 by UMCom to use modern technology and the common language of television to spread the news of Christ.

Vienna Baptist Church will be jamming every Sunday at 6 p.m. with a new service, VBPraise, an energetic, contemporary approach to worship. The Women's Ministry at Jubilee Christian Center is starting a new Bible study, discussing the book "Breaking Free," by Beth Moore.
